Job Description

 
Role Summary  
  
The Purchasing Department is looking for experienced Buyers with 5+ years’ experience across all areas of the Department. 
  
Role Responsibilities 
   
Experienced General Buyer  
  • Assist in developing specifications, bid terms and contractual language for the competitive bid process according to the Sourcing process
  • Review the qualifications of potential and current suppliers to determine their ability to meet determined specifications as well as the ongoing enforcement of corporate policies and procedure
  • Evaluation of bids, selection of vendor, and the negotiation of terms and pricing
  • Analyze supply base and competition with reference to price, capacity, and quality as well as monitor the integration of current and potential suppliers, establishing a sound supplier base
  • Review Purchase Authorization and backup and issue all purchase orders and assist in developing contract terminology for contractual major dollar commitments
  • Maintain an organized central purchase order filing system with audit back up material
  • SAP user training and support as required
  • Tracks and maintains Monthly Savings report based on individual performance
  • Assure process consistency with requirements
  • Develops and implements negotiation strategies coordinated and aligned with Group tasks
  • Video conference presentations to Purchasing as necessary
  • Represents Group at important Purchasing and Industry functions
  • Initiate inquiries and assists the Business Units in questions of future strategic RFP’s
Experienced Commodity Buyer  
  • Obtaining and evaluating quotes and preparing a decision making process
  • Prepare and lead price negotiations for inquiries and quotations while observing timing, quality, and service-related objectives
  • Prepare for and participate in Pre-Meeting and/or Corporate Sourcing Committee (CSC) decision meetings
  • Preparing of purchase orders by using the IT system
  • Creating and maintaining a business plan
  • Preparing project information and status for Management
  • Secure suppliers’ and sub-suppliers’ capacities
  • Reach annual price reduction targets set by the Commodity Management
  • Creating brand-specific related inquiries; watching, tracing and comparing quotations for investments
  • Support adaptation of specifications to US market requirements
  • Participation in working teams
Experienced Project Buyer  
  • Manage timing of supplier components for vehicle projects. This includes setting requirements for engineering releases to suppliers, tracking the sourcing of all components to suppliers, monitoring the progress of supplier parts through sampling and final approval and reporting of all the described items on a regular basis at all levels of the business.
  • Track and report Engineering Changes for supplier parts in vehicle projects
  • Coordinate Project Purchasing activities between project teams.
  • Representation of Purchasing in cross-functional working and meetings within the plant.
  • Ensuring the achievement of Standards in vehicle projects
  • Tracking Forward Sourcing process for new projects
 

     

 


Job Requirements

Qualifications

 

Required
  • 5+ years experience
  • Knowledge of US supplier base
  • Bachelor degree in business or related field
