Job Description

General Summary
The Director Global Ingredients is responsible for working closely with key suppliers to gain maximum value during the contract period. Planning, formulating, guiding, driving and monitoring implementation of category management strategies for all company's locations in designated region, ensuring quality of materials, competitive pricing, adherence to company policies, procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Global Procurement Business Unit. This position is responsible for the procurement of Spices, Flavors, Chemicals, Seafood, Dairy, Soy Protein and Animal Protein for all company's locations Globally with an annual spend valued at over $600MM.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities
1. Plan, formulate, guide, drive and monitor implementation of category management strategies and activities for all key company's spend categories
2. Lead Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs that focus on quality, productivity and innovation which drive synergies with top tier suppliers. 
3. Drive development of category management strategies for individual categories for innovation, cost reduction and/or value
4. Enhancement that result in tangible benefits to the bottom line with sound knowledge on internal analysis and external market analysis
5. Oversee and guide finalization of category-specific road map for institutionalizing category management focus (activities, timings, resources, dependencies, etc.)
6. Cultivate tracking and monitoring of supplier markets for key categories during the duration of contracts (including benchmarking against industry/market standards)
7. Evaluate strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations
8. Support and work closely with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) unit to establish and maintain collaborative, long-term relationships with strategic suppliers for particular category
9. Effectively communicate market dynamics to business unit leaders ensuring alignment of category strategies
10. Lead and promote change management

The individual must have the ability to influence the direction of the business and align and engage resources that are outside of their area of responsibility.

5. High frequency of interaction with external suppliers and business partners. 


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements
• Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree; MBA desired
• Years of experience required: minimum of 10 years of procurement and / or related supply chain / CPG industry experience required
• Prior talent management, people development and resource management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a cross company and/or cross matrix environment managing large complex projects strongly preferred
• Demonstrated self-starter, imaginative/innovator, and able to set executive direction
• Strong written and oral communication skills, decision making/problem solving and influencing and team building skills
• Strategic and analytical thinker
• Strong experience in procurement, finance and contracts (legal)
• Travel (15% - 20%) as required to perform duties.
