Job Description

 The CQC System Manager shall be a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 5 years construction experience in large commercial/institutional/health care/or local/federal government projects. Must be familiar with all aspects of construction, able to perform QC inspections on all types of commercial building construction oversight.

 Position Description:

Work closely with the Project Manager and Staff:

• Inspect and oversee construction of all types of construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. On this project, specific QC personnel may be utilized in the various disciplines of electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural working closely with the CQC lead team.

• Conducts Three Phase Inspections (Preparatory, Initial and Follow Ups).

• Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.

• Examines quality of finished installations for conformity to standard and approve installation. Coordinates testing laboratory technicians and interprets test results, communicating same to the client, at frequency directed.

• Interprets blueprints and specifications to ensure compliance with specifications and other regulations governing construction.

• Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.

• Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.

• Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from blueprints and reports such changes for incorporation on master blueprints red lines and as-builts.

• Your knowledge and or USACE CQM Certificate is most helpful as a base line standard; familiarity with LEEDS and or green construction also helpful. An Equal Opportunity Employer Solid Relationships, Built By Design General Contractor | Construction Manager


Job Requirements


• Education and experience commensurate with the guidelines as set forth above. Alternate degree major will be considered if experience standard is met. 

• USACE “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” certification may be required, or eligible for immediate certification at contractor expense. 

• OSHA min. 10 hour; 30 hour required at contractor expense.


• Must possess the ability to multi-task in a complex site environment. 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors and client representatives conveying and ensuring quality standards. 

• Strong management and interpersonal skills, working with many concurrent ongoing operations and recognizing the quality mission intended for this project and overall corporate goals benefiting the completion of this project. 

• Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Prior experience in USACE RMS is an experience advantage. 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. 

• Maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced work environment.
