Job Description Location: TBD Salary Base: High Market Base Salary Plus Bonus & Relocation Our client provides a platform for IT infrastructure in the cloud that is used by hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses around the world. These customers range from start-ups to leading web companies to Global 2000 companies in industries such as financial services, pharmaceuticals, and technology. Do you have the business savvy and leadership skills to drive the market development activity? Do you have a broad range of experience in the IT industry, and both the sales and technical insight necessary to grow and accelerate the business for a market-leading cloud platform? Can you identify and implement field initiatives that provide leverage, and identify and knock down sales barriers? As the Global Development leader you will lead a broad multi-functional team to define and implement the market development strategy, working in conjunction with other senior leaders across the organization. You will lead teams focused on developing specific markets, including: technology areas (compute, storage, database, AI/Client, etc.), customer segments (startups, enterprise, etc.), and industry verticals (financial services, healthcare, media and entertainment, etc.). You will also lead teams responsible for identifying business blockers, and developing organizational capability to tackle and effectively overcome these barriers. The ideal candidate will possess a broad business and IT/technology background that enables them interact and influence at senior levels of an organization, both internally as well as externally. They will deeply understand cloud computing, technology, and the IT landscape, and how to best position the company for strategically growing our business for the long term. They will have a demonstrated track record of leadership, including hiring and developing high performing teams, and effectively leading cross-organizational initiatives. Roles & Responsibilities: · Lead the multi-functional and multi-disciplinary team focused on market development. This includes teams focused on the platform and associated technologies and markets, teams focused on specific customer segments (startups, enterprise, etc.), and teams focused on industry verticals. · Help define the market development strategy for the organization. This work includes understanding the market, identifying key customers and partners to drive adoption with, and levers with which we can scale our success in that market. · Work cross-organizationally to implement the market development plans, including working with a broad array of leaders from various worldwide including: Sales, Solutions Architecture, Partners, Professional Services, Training and Certification, Support, Marketing, etc. · Identify impediments to the sales cycle, and champion efforts to mitigate these issues in the field. · Influence and champion the evolution of the platform, based on customer feedback and market opportunity. · Recruit, develop, and lead a set of senior business development leaders, setting and maintaining a high bar for performance, and making a fun and rewarding place to work. · Help position the business for growth in the long-term, including identifying emerging markets and industry trends. This involves leveraging your personal know-how and insight, as well as effectively harnessing the insight and skills from the broader team. Basic Qualifications: • 12+ years of leadership experience in solution selling and/or business development. • 12+ years of experience working in the enterprise IT industry. • Demonstrated proficiency as an effective leader of diverse, geographically distributed, multi-functional, and multi-disciplinary teams. • A working technical understanding of IT, including: database systems, tiered storage architectures, server and desktop virtualization, data center operations, network security, etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to understand current and future customer needs and present technical benefits. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations. • Experience and success in building relationships and negotiating complex deals with customers and partners. Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives (e.g. CEO, CIO, CTO). You've not only carried quotas, you've consistently exceeded them by doing the right thing for your customers. • Capability for developing and executing strategy for a broad array of markets and IT environments. • Strong written and verbal communications skills. • Strong strategic problem solving and collaboration skills. • Motivated self-starter, proactive, and action-oriented. • Undergraduate degree. Preferred Qualifications: • Business or technical degree. • Post Graduate degree.
